A “Walk for Co-existence”, organized by the Sri Lankan Police, commenced from Galle Face on 28th June 2014. This walk was held with the participation of about 1,000 Religious Clergy (i.e. Buddhist Monks, Catholic, Hindu & Muslim Priests), and 11,000 general community members. The members of Anjuman-e-Saifee (Sri Lanka), KKG, SEZ and Mumineen also joined this walk, to express their support towards national unity and peace. Some participants also exhibited placards / slogans that stressed the importance of national reconciliation and reached their destination, the Gangaramaya Temple.
